What sets a crossbow apart from a bow in terms of its capabilities? How many affixes am I allowed to have on my Rare quality armor? How do you change an affix on a piece of gear if it isn't contributing anything to your build? During our time with the Diablo 4 items beta, these questions kept running through our minds. As a result, we've written a guide that addresses all of these concerns and more.
The gearing system for the Diablo franchise has undergone some changes as a result of the release of Diablo IV; as a result, even long-time players may experience moments of confusion when interacting with the new systems and selecting the gear that is most appropriate for their class and build. Everything about the new gear, from the tooltips to the sockets and everything in between is discussed in detail. How can you tell that this item was crafted, and at least one of its affixes was altered? We explain in great detail how you can tell the difference between an item that has been freshly dropped off the body of a demon and one that has been modified using the game's internal systems. We don't just stop there, though; this guide covers everything you can possibly think of, from figuring out what properties are inherent to what base types to upgrading your gear with the Blacksmith and Jeweler to make it as powerful as possible. When you combine the fact that knowledge grants power with the undeniable fact that better equipment grants even more power, you have a match made in Heaven (or, more accurately, Hell)!
While the world of Sanctuary is being fully explored in preparation for the launch of Diablo IV in June, we will be updating all of our guides. Be sure to check back for the most recent information, which will include Unique properties, the possibility of crafting super-Legendaries, and a great deal more.
I'll look forward to seeing you in Sanctuary!
