The art of crafting is often disregarded in Elden Ring. It's a fantastic feature that got people excited, but in the end they went back to their tried-and-true methods of problem solving, just like stealth. With the right amount of effort, you can create a wide variety of game-changing items through crafting. Damage affinity is a common weakness in builds, but items can help you diversify your damage output. You can improve your chances of success in your next battle by using items to acquire more runes or supplies. You can get started making these 10 things right away.

Fire Pot

The fire pot is a Soulsborne staple that we'll get started with. The fire pot deals fire damage and has a small area of effect, but using it requires you to use less strength and dexterity. Though the damage isn't great, both magic and physical builds benefit from the ability to deal ranged fire damage without expending FP. Due to their limited damage output, many physical-only builds can benefit from bringing fire pots into battle. Twenty fire pots are the maximum you can carry at once.

Poisonbone Dart

When facing off against a wide variety of foes, and especially when engaging in PvP, status buffs are a reliable strategy. Even if one player sees the darts, another could miss them in the midst of battle and start or add to the poison. To compensate for the lack of individual buildup, the ability to carry and throw forty darts quickly more than makes up for it. These darts are not only useful for defending against ranged attacks, but they also deal minimal damage, making them a great addition to melee-focused builds.

Crystal Dart

To deal magical damage, crystal darts are thrown at foes. The damage scales with intelligence, making it a useful addition to magic builds, though it is easy to overlook in favor of more powerful and resource-free spells. Even though it costs 1 FP to fire a crystal dart, that's usually not a big deal. Since a character has room for 40 darts, they may still have some FP leftover after using this ability and Ashes of War.

Preserving Boluses

Increases in status in Elden Ring are highly significant, but they work both ways. A status effect can cause instant death if you contract it. The game introduces a new disease called Scarlet Rot, which causes rapid and severe damage. A single Preserving Bolus can relieve a bar of buildup or restore health to someone who has contracted the Rot. Traveling across the Lake of Rot requires a substantial stockpile of these, and the ability to carry 99 mean scarlet Rot can put your fears to rest.

Stanching Boluses

These work in the same way that Preserving Boluses do, but instead of stopping Blood loss, they stop Bleed. Bleed causes damage equal to the player's maximum health percentage in this game. If your health is already low from taking repeated bleed damage, the status effect could be the final straw. When it comes to player versus player combat, bleed status weapons and effects are where it's at. On the other hand, if you plan on doing some invading of your own, you had better be ready for a potentially annoying enemy.

Warming Stone

The majority of players don't venture out into the Lands Between on their own. It's better to fight with allies, whether you're summoning other players, NPCs, or Spirits. The HP bar wears down over time during prolonged summons, and if the summoned creature can't heal itself, they may be doomed. To use a healing stone, you must drop on the area and use your own FP to heal all nearby enemies and allies for a short period of time. Choose your spots carefully, because they could have a profound effect on the outcome. While its combat effectiveness may be lacking, it serves admirably for brief respites in previously cleared zones.

Soft Cotton

Elden Ring exploration is not only encouraged but also highly advantageous. With the new jump mechanic, players can now either climb up or fall down to reach new areas, with significantly reduced fall damage. While the severity of a fall has been mitigated, it still exists. Soft Cotton temporarily lessens both the impact and the noise of a fall. If you need to sneak up on an enemy and drop quietly, this item will serve you well. Carrying 99 Soft Cottons is enough to get you started in this vast open world.

Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot

Items in Elden Ring can be found by searching the loot of defeated enemies. These may be anything from minor annoyances to game-changing weapons. Using this item will increase your discovery by 50 points, from a starting value of 100. When you buy this item, it's like getting 50 levels in the Arcane stat, which increases Discovery by 1. Since many potent weapons can be found among the loot of defeated foes, this tool will prove invaluable in shortening the time it takes to gather those weapons.

Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot

Simply gaining experience levels is the quickest and most direct route to a more powerful character. To fully develop your character, you should be able to decide which of your stats needs a boost. You can also strengthen your character by purchasing consumables or upgrading your weapons, but doing so requires a lot of runes. Since you'll need quite a few runes to progress past a certain level, the Gold-Pickled Fowl Foot is a useful tool that can cut down on the amount of time spent farming while also increasing your rune supply. This item provides a temporary 30% increase to the number of runes harvested from your normal farming methods. Gaining more runes is the game's foundation for strengthening oneself, and this item hastens the process.

Frozen Raisin

When adventuring in Elden Ring, you'll come across a wide variety of field bosses. The fact that these field bosses can be fought on horseback is a huge perk—at least, until your horse takes too many hits. Whether you're trotting along or just standing still, you can use this item to heal Torrent while you ride. Although this doesn't replenish a lot of health, Torrent can get far enough away from a fight to heal himself several times before charging back in.
