Since the launch of Diablo IV a week ago, Blizzard has issued its ninth patch for the game, which includes a change that reduces the likelihood of encountering elite monsters in dungeons frequently used for XP farming. The fans aren't happy about the change at all, pointing out that the dungeons that were changed were some of the most fun to run in the game. Previous Diablo hotfixes have made adjustments to spawn rates in an effort to bring out-of-balance dungeons back into balance. The most recent six fixes contain additional adjustments to the spawn rates of Elite monsters in dungeons. The most recent update also includes a note from the developers that states, "We are standardizing the density of elite monsters that spawn in dungeons to ensure that no particular dungeon is clearly more efficient to run through than others." This note is included in the patch that was just released. Players aren't happy with the change, and many of them vented their frustrations in a thread on Reddit about how Blizzard chose to reduce spawn rates for its most popular dungeons rather than increase rates for the game's less popular dungeons. Players aren't happy with the change. Fans are in agreement that the most enjoyable aspect of Diablo IV is taking out large groups of enemies, as the spawn rates in standard dungeons are frequently underwhelming.
