In preparation for the upcoming Server Slam Weekend Event, the Diablo development team has just released yet another significant patch. Rod Fergusson, who is the general manager of the Diablo franchise, Joseph Piepiora, who is an associate game director, Kegan Clark, who is the director of product management, and Adam Fletcher, who is the lead for the community, give us our first real glimpse of seasonal content, continue their deep dive into the Battle Pass, show off more amazing cosmetics, and more! Take a look below for a rundown of all the most important points brought up in this update. SeasonsDesign considerations for the various seasonsThe first season of Diablo 4 begins not long after the game is made available to the public (middle to late July). Each season lasts for a total of four months over the course of a year. There is a dominant recurring theme that runs throughout the entirety of a season. There will be a questline that changes with the seasons. It is intended to be a fresh entry point through which new characters and a stand-alone narrative can be presented. The primary elements of the story will be stored away for use in subsequent expansions.
Each Season has the potential to introduce new features, which will result in updated gameplay, but these features will be removed at the end of the Season. This maintains the game at the level that was anticipated. However, this does not necessarily rule out the possibility of certain seasonal features ever being incorporated into the core game. There will be a new season of Journey! Presented in chapters that each have their own goals. To complete a Chapter, it is not necessary for you to finish all of the Chapter's objectives, which leaves some room for player agency. By completing Chapters throughout the Season Journey, players can earn rewards such as a specific set of Codex of Power Aspects (which vary depending on the season), as well as Caches of various items. These are able to include Aspects that were introduced in the corresponding Season. When you complete objectives, you earn favor that can be applied toward your Battle Pass. Each season, new legendary and unique items are added to the game, and these items will remain in the game even after the season is over! After the conclusion of a season, the characters are added to the Eternal Realm.
Season Journey and Blessings are account-wide features, which means they are preserved in the event that a Hardcore character is deleted

The term "Seasonal Blessings" refers to a variety of buffs that can help speed up your progression through a given season. You can increase the power of Seasonal Blessings by using Smoldering Ashes. On each and every Free Tier of the Battle Pass that contains Smoldering Ashes, there is an additional level requirement that must be met. Even with the Accelerated Battle Pass, this eliminates the possibility of paying to win! The Free Track is the only place where players can earn Smoldering Ashes. It has been validated that you are permitted to return Seasonal Blessings in order to exchange Smoldering Ashes for another Blessing. There is a Gold cost involved, and it will increase each time a refund is processed. Unlocks for the Battle Pass are not class specific, but items from the Shop are. You are free to combine and match the components of an armor set. Both the Battle Pass and the Shop's cosmetics apply to the entire account. Free Trial of Some CosmeticsThe rewards include a variety of role-playing items, such as clothing, armor, mounts, emotes, headstones, and so on, all of which have a seasonal theme. Armor pieces that you collect around the world have a style that is unique to that region.
The Shop gives you access to additional ways to customize your character, while remaining consistent with the realistic fantasy setting of the Diablo 4 boosting (buy them here) universe. It is possible to change the color of in-game and Shop items. The items in the shop will switch out on a weekly basis but may be purchased again. A Recommend section of the shop will learn what you play and like in order to provide you with better deals; consequently, the Shop that one player sees may differ slightly from the Shop that another player sees. Additional InsightsYou will be able to mount up once you have progressed far enough in the campaign to reach the required quest and have finished it. After that point, it will be unlocked for all characters, across all future seasons, across the entire account. You can create a character that is Level 1, and you can begin a season with a mount. When you find an Altar of Lilith, the benefit they provide will be applied permanently to all of your characters, regardless of the season. You will still be able to find them in the new season so that you can advance your Renown.
It is not in the cards to transport them to different parts of the world during the different seasons. The priority number one is improving the players' quality of life. The team's goal is to quickly process the player feedback they receive and then respond appropriately to that feedback. Seasons are filled with many different tests and obstacles. The objective is not to stretch out the length of the game by adding more and more content. Include new "pinnacle" content such as challenging encounters, bosses, and so on. There will not be any leaderboards in season 1 or (most likely) season 2. The group is working towards adding them, but they want to ensure that everything is done correctly.
