The Town Portal, abbreviated as "TP," has been an indispensable part of Blizzard Entertainment's illustrious action role-playing game (ARPG) series from the very beginning. This fast-travel function makes its return in Diablo 4, but before using it, players need to be aware of a significant change that has been implemented. In a situation like this, our Diablo 4 guide for the Town Portal can be very helpful. This guide will take you step-by-step through the process of unlocking and using the Town Portal in Diablo 4, including the steps that are required to complete the Missing Pieces quest and an explanation of why you will receive a warning that your current TP will close if you leave town. How to Utilize the Town Portal in Diablo 4 and Obtain Access to ItAfter starting a new game of Diablo 4, you will not immediately be granted access to the Town Portal function. After the player has completed the game's prologue, they should head to Kyovashad, the principal city of Fractured Peaks. Kyovashad is the heart of the region. When you arrive at this location, the Missing Pieces quest will be given to you to complete. At the Stables, you will find Lorath Nahr, who will give you a short quest.
1. You can make your way back to the town by using the Town Portal, which, as its name suggests, allows you to do just that
2. This comes in handy for quickly finishing quests by returning to a specific quest-giver in a town or exiting a dungeon and selling your loot, as well as doing other things along the same lines as those mentioned above
3. To the left of the resource globe in the user interface is where you'll find the button that allows you to access the Town Portal
4. On a personal computer, the most common keyboard shortcut is the letter T
5. Why Is It That We Can No Longer Play Diablo 4 Together
6. It is recommended that you do not leave the town if you do not want the Town Portal to close
7. (Picture: Blizzard)This is a significant departure from previous installments in the Diablo series, in which you were free to use the Town Portal to travel between towns as often as you liked until you cast a new one
This restriction will remain in place until you cast a new one. In Diablo 4, if you leave a town you were in, the Town Portal that you were using will shut down. If a player, for example, leaves Kyovashad, they will receive a notification that their Diablo 4 Town Portal will be closed. This happens automatically when the player leaves the town. For example, if you are in the middle of a dungeon but need to teleport out to sell or salvage some equipment, you should wait in Kyovashad so that you can use the Town Portal to teleport back into the dungeon. Only then will you be able to continue with the quest. If you leave the town for any reason, you will be given a warning, as depicted in the image to the right, and as a consequence, your TP will become unavailable.
